Justice League #40 (DC Comics)

Now this is more like it!
The delayed issue of Justice League arrived in stores as Convergence is in full play. And what a distraction this turned out to be. A "Prologue" to the forthcoming summer event The Darkseid War, readers are given a precis of the changes to reality that the DC Universe has undergone from the classic Crisis on Infinite Earths, through Zero Hour, Infinite Crisis and of course Flashpoint which led to the introduction of the "New 52" a description of DC's line that is about to disappear.
Narrated by Metron of the New Gods ( about whom we learn a little more in this opening story) we see the "pact" brokered between High Father of New Genesis and Darkseid of Apokolips.
Orion and Scott Free change places.
We also get introduced to the Anti-Monitor and learn one or two things about him. One of which was that he previously occupied the Mobius Chair that Metron uses for his dispassionate observations.
The only irritating thing for me was that the story was continued in Divergence, a Free Comic Day title that will now be nigh on impossible to get.
However if this opening issue is anything to go by, the war between the Anti-Monitor and Darkseid will be the comic book event of the year pushing "Secret Convergence Wars" to the sidelines.
