One of the more interesting uses of Superman as a character was his re-imagining as if instead of landing in Kansas as a baby his ship fell into the Soviet Union and how different the world would be. Instead of standing for Truth, Justice and the American Way he became a toll for the Proletarian Revolution and a Communist Icon?
And so Superman: Red Son was born as a three part comic by British writer Mark Millar and artist Dave Johnson was an instant success. Superman was part of Stalin's inner circle all as a result of his spaceship landing just 12 hours earlier. History has changed.
What does this mean for the West as the most powerful being in the world is on the other side. Will Europe fall and then America. What about the other heroes and then there's the US Ambassador to the Soviet Union a certain Princess Diana aka Wonder Woman possibly his only equal.
Then there's Lex Luthor champion of the free world and there are other heroes. How will this all end? No spoilers since it's been a while since I read the comics and now DC have brought this great story to life in their animated movies range. It's due out in a couple of weeks and here's the trailer to wet your appetite. I've already pre-ordered mine.
