Vault of Evil #18 (Marvel/1975)
Vault of Evil #18 (Marvel)
Various (w) & (a)
During the horror boom of the seventies Marvel Comics brought out a large number of different comics reprinting material from the past.
The first story, A Coffin for Carlos a scary story about cheating death originally appeared in Marvel Tales #110 (1952) and the second, No Place to Hide in the short-lived Adventures into Mystery #5 (1957) Potions are not always what they seem. Ill matched lovers end up very far apart indeed.
Next up is an attempt at escaping the law. Time stands still for no man in What World Is This? from Mystery Tales #51 (1957). A rather odd story about duplicates is told in Mass Murder from Strange Tales Of the Unusual #10 (1957)
The rather entertaining story The Perfect Hide Out shows disability is no barrier to catching thieves and murderers. Originally published in Strange Tales Of The Unusual #11 (1957).
The cost of collecting let alone finding most of these titles shows how worthwhile picking up these reprints are. The fifties horror stories from Atlas both before and after the Comics Code are worth a read.
