1982: A quite eventful year as the IRA sink a Scottish ship with a speed boat and of course the Falklands War starts with the eventual defeat of Argentina and the last time a Vulcan bomber is used in action. On a lighter not Mark Thatcher gets lost in the dessert only to be found six days later.

Bucks Fizz have two number one hits with The Land Of Make Believe and My Camera Never Lies. Eye of the Tiger also takes the top spot from Survivor and Musical Youth Pass The Dutchie. Meanwhile Iron Maiden take a number one spot in the album charts with The Number of the Beast. Both the Fame Soundtrack and The Kids from Fame hit number one!
Altered Images are the cover feature of this issue of Look-in and having had two big hits the previous year with Happy Birthday (of which I still have my old vinyl copy of) and I Could be Happy continued to make hits and this single See Those Eyes which reached No 11 in the Top 40.
Other features included a comic strip version of Tommy & Ball of whom I was never a fan whilst Worzel Gummidge and Chips were still going strong. But new to Look-in was Magnum PI a programme I did used to like watching and Danger Mouse which I have never seen.
Pin ups included The Fall Guy and The Funboy Three who I saw that year at The Hammersmith Palais where they had a special appearance from Bananarama of whom I have remained a lifelong fan .
