Twin Worlds #1 (Action Lab/Danger Zone) Out Now!

Twin Worlds #1 (Action Lab/Danger Zone)

Rami Al-Ashqar (w) Jethro Morales (a)

This is only the second title I have tried from this small publisher who differentiate their range of comics for more mature readers with Danger Zone" label. The previous book I picked up featured a Bigfoot on Mars but only lasted for one story arc which was a pity as I was intrigued.

However Twin Worlds promises to be a more interesting and hopeful more commercially viable as it is a crossover between a world of science and one of sword and sorcery. The story is set on the world of Tasseroth in Earth Year 21AP (After Portal) in which the humans are the bad guys invading a planet and plundering it's resources, one in particular it would seem.

Not all the natives have given up fighting and we see a patrol of Earthers get their comeuppance when attacked by by a Drakkaran force complete with Dragon! Prisoners are taken and the humans executed despite their threats. One is kept alive as he is one of the Quislings from Zila who collaborate with Earth.

In the middle of the Drakka Square capital of their nation the traitor and one other are executed for their treachery to teach a lesson to those who betray the cause of freedom.

This issue sets up the scene as we later get introduced to the other side and there are some info pages at the back which are necessary background reading to get an appreciation of this story.

I loved this comic. It will hopefully live up to the potential that such a clash of civilisations and genres should bring.

Rating: 5 Stars Highly Recommended.

In comic shops now and the current issue of Previews is soliciting issue 4 as this is a wee bit behind but well worth waiting for!
