The latest issue of Previews, the comic shop catalogue has been in stores for a week now and I've already sent off my order for a handful of on-going titles and some new stuff. So what caught my attention this month.
Lets start with DC, who annoyingly like Marvel have a separate magazine insert but putting that minor issue aside there is some interesting stuff from them this month.
The solicitation reads:
Bruce Wayne wakes up in Arkham Asylum. Young. Sane.
And...he was never Batman.
So begins this sprawling tale of the Dark Knight as he embarks on a quest through a devastated DC landscape featuring a massive cast of familiar faces from the DC Universe. As he tries to piece together the mystery of his past, he must unravel the cause of this terrible future and track down the unspeakable force that destroyed the world as he knew it...
What is going on here is anyone's guess at this stage but this prestige format bi-monthly series caught my attention.
Next up are DC zombies...
DCeased is a six-issue mini series about a pandemic. Love Zombies. Marvel have done it, now it's DC's turn. The you can't turn down a 25 Cent edition to kick off DC's "Year of the Villain". Probably cost us a quid in the UK once shipping charges are added but still cracking value.
Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom. how retro that sounds but will probably be a bit more violent than a "silver age" story. The final DC release that made it to my pull list is the re-solicited Batman and The Outsiders. And about time to!
Nothing new from Marvel caught my attention but Archie did!
Betty and veronica have had a wee bit of a shock. Archie's with Sabrina out favourite teenage witch. Part one of a five part story that looks amusing. I'm also picking up these books:
This brings me to my final recommendation of the month. All my favourite ladies together in one title, a five issue mini series from Dynamite.
And of course from the UK section don't forget to order your copy of Comics Scene the excellent new fanzine for British fans!
